Mikael Huss, Naval Architect PhD, has worked in most sectors of education, research and development of ship technology for 40 years but retired from all regular employments in September 2018.
The last employment 2007-2018 was at Wallenius Marine AB, where he was working with R&D mainly in the fields of ship dynamics and ship performance analysis.
From 2001 to 2006 he was working with rule development as Head of Ship Technical Division at the Swedish Maritime Safety Inspectorate within the Swedish Maritime Administration (in 2009 the Inspectorate was incorporated into the new Swedish Transport Agency).
Before that he was working 20 years at the Royal Institute of Technology - KTH as a researcher, senior lecturer and director of undergraduate education in Naval Architecture.
Mikael has also been a part-time consultant, researcher and software developer within the private firm mhuss and within Seaware AB as founder and part owner until the company was bought by StormGeo in 2010. The Seaware products are today part of the StormGeo shipping product line.
